Science. Girls. Beer. Miles Davis.

B.I.Tc.H., a UCI chemistry grad student and contributor to Nice Shoes, Wanna Fock? mentions in an offhanded manner the label for her homebrew: yahoomessanger free

It's like hitting the awesomeness trifecta and having beer thrown in as a bonus. I'm speechless.yahoomessanger free

(I know, you thought this blog was dead. But I promised to stop posting about booze on TBND, and I had been hoping to resurrect this anyway.)yahoomessanger free

Yeah, don't go thanking him before you count how many people actually read this blog.yahoomessanger free

Oh, and what's wrong with tbnd becoming a boozeblog?yahoomessanger free

That's OK, nobody reads ours either. I'm surprised you found it.yahoomessanger free

And for the record, if this were a boozeblog, I'd definitely make it a daily read.yahoomessanger free

That's the best label I've seen in a while. (Count me in, Tony). If it were around me now, I'd drink it. Though, that generally doesn't mean much, as Todd seems to be experiencing with his one-track mind. :-Pyahoomessanger free

Yeah, I found Focking Science and TDC while looking for blogs by UCI graduate students. It's surprising that NS,WF doesn't have a following, though, given:yahoomessanger free

1) NS,WF is like TDC with girls and a patriot.
2) TDC is a top-50 science blog.
3) Girls and patriots make everything better.yahoomessanger free

Hmmm, I had no idea that UCI grad students were so popular.yahoomessanger free

I don't know about girls and patiots...I'm more of the opinion that beer makes everything better, but that's just me.yahoomessanger free

I can't really speak to UCI grad students' popularity in general. But I had just returned my letter of intent and was looking for as much information about the culture as possible. yahoomessanger free

Speaking of which, you wouldn't happen to know anyone who wants to share an apartment with two laid back science students, would you?yahoomessanger free

So you're moving to Irvine? It's quite the exciting place, I hope you're fully prepared. Which department will you be in? I assume Comp. Eng. or ICS based on perusing the rest of your blog...yahoomessanger free

Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone looking for roommates, but I'm pretty sure all incoming first-years are now guaranteed on-campus housing.yahoomessanger free

Posted by: B.I.Tc.H. at July 17, 2006 7:34 PMyahoomessanger free

Yeah, ICS. yahoomessanger free

We are guaranteed housing, but I intend to live with my girlfriend, so that's making things a bit more interesting. yahoomessanger free

I think you can live on-campus if you're domestic partners, although I'm not sure how much paperwork that entails.yahoomessanger free

Posted by: B.I.Tc.H. at July 18, 2006 1:05 PMyahoomessanger free

Yeah. Though everything I've read seems to indicate that, to get such a partnership, you have to be either 1) a same-sex couple or 2) over 65. yahoomessanger free

We also thought about getting a one-bedroom in VDC, under just one of our names, but we have had bad experiences with that sort of arrangement in the past.yahoomessanger free

Anyway, I think that we have forfeitted our right to guaranteed housing by not signing a lease already. Yay.yahoomessanger free
